Bye bye birdie!

In recent times, social media platforms have become a crucial part of our daily lives. They provide us with a platform to connect with friends and family, near and far, share our thoughts and opinions, and stay updated with all the latest news and trends. However, as much as social media can be a source of joy and entertainment, it can also be a source of negativity, hate speech and stress.

One such platform that has been in the news for all the wrong reasons is Twitter. While it is one of the most popular social media sites, it has also been plagued with negativity and toxic behaviour. From cyberbullying to hate speech, Twitter has become a breeding ground for negativity, which can have a detrimental effect on one's mental health.

As a result, I have decided to take a “forever” break from the app after 14 years of actively using it. I am not the only one, many people have decided to take a break from Twitter and other social media networking sites. They have realised that the constant exposure to negativity can take a toll on their mental health, leading to anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. While I am sound in me ability to know when to switch off from the narratives online, having a break from Twitter is something I'm excited about doing.

From experience; Taking a break from Twitter can help you focus on your mental health and well-being. It can give you the time and space you need to disconnect from the negativity and toxicity of social media and focus on the things that matter most to you.

Here are some reasons why taking a break from Twitter might be the right decision for you:

1. Mental Health: Being exposed to the negativity and toxicity of social media can lead to stress, anxiety, and depression. Taking a break from Twitter can help you focus on your mental health and well-being.

2. Productivity: Social media can be a huge distraction, taking up valuable time that could be spent on more productive things. Taking a break from Twitter can help you focus on your goals and achieve more in less time.

3. Positive Vibes: Taking a break from Twitter can help you surround yourself with positive vibes, which can have a positive impact on your mental and emotional well-being.

4. Personal Growth: Taking a break from Twitter can give you the time and space you need to focus on personal growth and development. You can use this time to learn new skills, take up a new hobby, or pursue a passion.

So, for me - taking a break from Twitter can be a positive step towards improving your mental health and well-being. It can help you disconnect from the negativity and toxicity of social media and focus on the things that matter most to you.

So, if you feel like Twitter is negatively affecting your mental health, consider taking a “forever” break from it and focus on your personal growth and development. Find me over on the Facebook & Instagram machine, sharing images and content that I control the narrative on, and nobody else.
